There was no sign of any additional funding for BC Ferries in this week’s provincial budget.

Finance Minister Kevin Falcon made no apology…

“We just had a report, as you know, from the independent commissioner with respect to ferries. The government is still reviewing that report, but I just have to say I don’t think people should be looking forward to government stepping into the breach, and all the fiscal challenges the ferries face. There’s going to also have to be reality in terms of making sure we cut the cloth to fit the pattern.”

A delegation from the Ferry Advisory Committee Chairs group will be meeting Transportation Minister, Blair Lekstrom, next week to press the need for a more positive approach from the Province.
