An air display by the RCAF Snowbirds display team on Wednesday, July 31 will close Nanaimo Harbour to all vessels between 6pm and approximately 6.50pm. As a result, BC Ferries has announced the following alterations to sailings for that day only:
- 4.25 pm Gabriola to Nanaimo Harbour (normally Dangerous Cargo) will be available for all vehicle/passenger traffic
- 5.00 pm Nanaimo Harbour to Gabriola will operate as normal
- 5.35 pm Gabriola to Nanaimo Harbour will be Dangerous Cargo only, and will sail to Duke Point (not Nanaimo Harbour)
- 6.10 pm Nanaimo Harbour to Gabriola will be cancelled
- 9.25 pm Nanaimo Harbour to Gabriola (normally no sailing on Wednesdays) will operate for all vehicle/passenger traffic
- 9.55 pm Gabriola to Nanaimo Harbour (normally no sailing on Wednesdays) will operate for all vehicle/passenger traffic
